Water Aerobics

The Sheboygan Falls Aquatic Center offers water exercise classes designed to provide an aerobic exercise program for adults and seniors.  Water aerobics is a safe way to get a great work out, with less stress on the joints and is appropriate for people of all ages. Water Aerobics burns more calories due to the  effects of water resistance on the body. You will also see quick results in your physical conditioning.

People with health problems (only if cleared by their doctor) can work out comfortably in the water due to less stress on the body. Take a class, you will be hooked!

Equipment

Some Deep Water exercises are done using a deep water aerobic belt. These belts provide flotation however require some balance control. Participants will be instructed on how to use these belts during class. Other equipment will be used including kickboards, water weights, floatation dumbbells, and water noodles.  All equipment for water aerobic classes is provided by the Sheboygan Falls Aquatic Center.

Deep Water vs Shallow Water

The shallow water classes stay in the lane-line area which is about chest-deep water.  The deep water classes may move to the deep end of the pool for part of their class and use the floatation belts. The actual exercises the classes use are pretty similar.
