Ropes Course

What is the Ropes/Challenge Program?

The Sheboygan Falls Ropes/Challenge Course was built in 2004, for the purpose of providing an opportunity for youth, parents, teachers, and community youth group leaders to enhance life skills. The courses are available to private businesses and organizations on a separate fee scale.

The Challenge Program consists of a variety of course, seminar, and workshop options. The general format of our program includes non-competitive games woven into a series of individual and group Challenge initiatives. Facilitators plan a sequence of activities which begins with ice-breaking, trust-building, and safety instruction and leads into problem-solving challenges.

Communication, choice and decision-making, leadership, teamwork and collaboration are key elements of discussion as groups work toward achieving their group and individual goals for the day. Insights and learnings from the course are shared, discussed, and applied to the school, home, and work environments.

We believe that learning and growth are best achieved through the willing participation of the learner. Although we do ask participants to challenge themselves in our programs, all of the activities presented to participants are "challenge by choice". Courses tailored to:

  • Youth and Adults

  • Parents, Families

  • Teachers, Counselors

  • Community Groups

  • Military Personnel

  • Non-profit Organizations

  • Private Business

A Note on Physical Activity

Ropes/Challenge Courses can be designed and tailored for any group however, if not specially requested, many initiatives and games will require some physical ability.

Many of the activities in our programs appear to require individual strength or athletic ability. Indeed, if individuals were to attempt them alone, even fit and agile individuals could not accomplish them.

"The combined strength of a group of individuals built the pyramids of Egypt."

So, too, can a group of challenge participants accomplish a great deal more together than they could alone. This is one of the tenets of our program.
